HAIR MANE-TENANCE 101

Ok, let's talk hair! I get a ton of questions everyday about my hair so I am excited to share this post with you! As you can see, I have a lot of it (100% all mine, no extensions) so I have a lot to say about it! Hopefully, this will answer many of your questions and leave you with some tips and tricks to help you MANEtain your precious locks. Now pour yourself a glass of rosé and get comfy!

Hair Color: Alex at Vanity Salon Houston

12 years ago I met the guy who made all my hair dreams come true! Meet Alex, my hair magician. My job is to grow the hair and he works his magic to bring my color fantasies to real life! When I met him, he was fresh out of the Aveda Institute and our conversation went like this... Me: "Do you see my hair? I have a lot of it. Can you color my hair without making it orange, green, brassy or damaged"? Alex: "Yes Cel, I can". Me: "Ok, I will let you do my hair and if I love it, I will be your lifelong client". Needless to say, I LOVED IT!

Prior to Alex, I had many hair color sessions gone wrong and I made a vow to myself to never go through that stress again! I have had long hair since I was a Little Cel and it's my signature look, I couldn't take any more chances. Don't get me wrong, I love hats but not when I am forced to wear them. I also learned I do not look good with green hair!

Haircut: Brittany at Vanity Salon Houston

When I was younger and wanted my hair to grow longer, I didn't want to cut it because well, I was trying to grow it longer. I was so wrong! After realizing that my hair wasn't getting any longer, I decided to go ahead and give this "trim your hair every 6 weeks" thing a try. I wish I would have taken that advice sooner! My hair has continuously grown ever since I started this regimen. Every 6-8 weeks, I get a hair trim and by trim I mean 1-3 inches. I can kiss those split ends goodbye and still keep the length.

I am also a firm believer in good hair products. I use everything I can to maintain the health of my hair. I have linked all of the products I use below along with a few tips that have really helped MANEtain my signature locks. I know that everyone's hair is different but I think these are tips that can work on most hair types and hopefully you can try at least one that'll help your mane. Before you try anything new, consult with your hair stylist first or mine because he is pretty amazing!

My Hair Care Regimen:

1. I treat my hair like I treat my skin; I drink plenty of water to hydrate, moisturize often and protect it from the sun.

2. I try to cut back on heat styling when I can. I let my hair air dry for about 45 minutes then blow dry it for about 10 minutes especially if I am going to curl it. I always use a heat protectant spray prior to drying my hair. Now if I want an arm workout, I'll blow dry it for 45 minutes!

3. Instead of washing my hair every single day like I use to, I try to wait a day or two in between washes to maintain moisture. Unless I am running, then I have to wash it! I'm also a huge fan of baby powder, yep you heard me right! I use baby powder instead of dry shampoo and I don't think that'll ever change! I have found that most dry shampoos weigh my hair down and make it look worse so I am sticking with my baby powder. I simply shake a bit into my roots then blow dry it with a round brush to set it and make it disappear into my hair. Try it! It's super easy and gives your hair great volume!

4. Condition!!! I have a lot of hair so I use a lot of conditioner. I use a daily conditioner (linked below) every time I wash and a conditioning mask (linked below) twice a week. I do the mask twice a week because I need it. Running outside can be harsh on the hair.

5. I said this before and I'll say it again... I swear by hair trims every 6-8 weeks. It really works and my hair always thanks me afterward! To be honest, nobody can ever tell I've had a trim and I love  that because that tells me it still looks just as long!

6. Don't touch it! I know this may sound funny but it's true, I really don't touch my hair. I read in a magazine when I was 12 that the less your touch/brush your hair, the less breakage you have. Once I fix it for the day, I don't touch it. "Step away from your hair"! Unless it gets caught in your lashes or stuck in your lipgloss! Have you ever noticed if you play with your hair then look down at your pants or shirt that most of the time there's pieces of hair laying there that were just on your head? Let it stay on your head as long as it can!

7. Running is not a fan of my long hair. For starters my ponytail weighs about 5 lbs. and tends to run in the opposite direction. I have to be very careful that I am not having breakage around the front of my hair due to my heavy ponytail. I have a special running ponytail that I wear to help lighten the weight of my hair. I will share a "how to" in a later post but it is simply three ponytails combined into one! I love mother nature but the sun, wind, dirt and pollution are not gentle to my hair either so this is where conditioning comes in handy.

8. Sanitize! By that I mean a good deep clean. 2-3 times a month I wash my hair with a clarifying shampoo to get rid of all of the product that I use everyday. I feel so fresh afterward!

9. Healthy Fats! I try to make sure to eat as many healthy fats as I can because they taste good and they make my hair pretty. Guacamole, I mean avocado is at the top of my list!

10. Silk Pillowcase! I love mine (it's pink of course) and have used silk for about 4 years now! I learned from my 9-5 in aesthetics that silk pillowcases are not only good for your hair but gentle on your skin too. I also hope that it will turn me into Sleeping Beauty!

I hope you have learned a tip or two from my tried and true hair regimen. If you have any good hair advice please, do tell! Thank you for chatting with me and remember to always be Running on Rosé!

POP OF PINK

Outfit Details

Black Floppy Hat: Forever 21 |  Mock Neck Long Sleeve with Pink Fur Cuffs: Alice + Olivia | High Waist Skinny Jeans: Topshop | Suede Ankle Boot with Bow: Christian Louboutin  |

Hello darlings! I want to share this fun, festive fall look with you all! No matter what time of year it is, I am ALWAYS a fan of color. I love to show my happiness through my wardrobe and what better way to do so than with a pop of pink! Can I just say how much I love this top! These pink fur cuffs are so glam and girly that I just could not resist. When I wear a color this bright, I like to keep everything else simple. These cuffs are a statement piece and need nothing else. I also love that they are removable which work great for this unpredictable Texas weather.

Now can I take a moment to discuss how much I am crushing on these ankle boots? I had been holding out for the perfect fall/winter boots and I found them! As soon as I saw the bow on the back I knew these boots were the ones! I love anything that has a bow on it, how can you not? The best part about them is that the ankle cuff can be worn up (as shown) or folded over for a more causal look. I told my Husband that it was like I was really getting two pair of boots for the price of one! He totally believed me and they came home with me. Thank you Mi Amor!

Have a happy pink Wednesday and remember to always be Running on Rosé!

GLAM HOME ESSENTIALS

Hello Loves! I know the holidays are right around the corner so I have compiled a list of some of my favorite home essentials! Most of these items I already own and want to share with you because I love them so much! A few of them are on my Christmas list so Hubby I mean Santa, I hope you're listening!

Hearth 5 Wick Glass Candle

This is one of my favorite candles ever! The scent is so glam! This is the new huge size and so I must have it! The first thing I do when I walk in the house is light my candles so this one should last a long time.

How pretty are these wine glasses? They look even prettier with rosé in them! I prefer to call this color rose gold. I have a very similar set that I can no longer find but I get so many questions on Instagram asking where these are from so I was so happy to finally find them for you!

Le Creuset® 1.1-Quart Shallow Heart Cocotte in Hibiscus

Now this will surely inspire me to cook! I fell in love with Le Creuset as soon as I saw they made pink cookware. This could be used to cook or bake! I would use it to hold dinner rolls because it's too cute not to have out on display.

I love any and everything to do with Paris and I can't get enough of coffee table books. I could get lost in the pages of this gorgeous book. It's just so pretty and pink! Oui, Oui!

il_fullxfull.1389629355_t7wu.jpg

Yes please! I have never met a decorative pillow I didn't like but this one takes the cake or should I say Rosé! Now this is how I like to dress my sofa!

Rose Gold Flatware, 20 Piece Set

Now let's eat! How pretty is this flatware? I can only imagine all the different ways these can be incorporated into holiday tablescapes.

Oslo Throw

When I think of a glam home, I always picture a fur throw. They look so effortlessly chic tossed over a sofa, bed or chair. I love fur throws for decoration but I also love to get all wrapped up in them and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa.

Courtly Check Enamel Wine Cooler

There's something about this simple black and white check pattern that gets me every time. I love how it goes with any color in the kitchen and looks so pretty when you open your cabinets. I would double this wine cooler as a flower vase too!

If you know me, you know I LOVE coffee! I have tried every iced coffee brewer on the market and this is by far my favorite! This brewer makes hot and iced coffee so it's a win-win. It's so nice to have the option in the morning of hot or iced coffee. My brewer came with a cute Barista but I can't make any promises about that!

Whether you are shopping for yourself or someone else, enjoy! Thank you for visiting and remember to always be Running on Rosé!

Hello Loves! My love for running inspired the "running" of Running On Rosé. I've been excited to share this post because I get so many questions about running and how I got started. Since I was in elementary school, I have always loved to run. When I run I'm in my element, I feel happy, strong and free. I love that I can run out of my front door and my legs will take me anywhere I want to go. I love that I can travel to any city, state or country and I am able to run and tour new places. Some of my best ideas have come to me while I was running. My husband and I planned our entire wedding while training for the Houston Marathon. We also hold hands as we cross every finish line because we are a team and we did it together! I'm a firm believer that running is also good for the mind. I've always said with the ups and downs of life, running has gotten me through. No matter what, I always feel better after a run.
You all know my love for fashion! I select my running outfits the same way I select my regular outfits. I like to call myself a fashionable runner! Why shouldn't we sweat pretty? As much time as I spend pounding the pavement, I want to look my best! I'm always on the hunt for cute running clothes because I feel that I run happier when I love what I'm wearing. I will share and post about all of my running finds with y'all and please, do the same! I want to know what y'all like to wear while running and what you feel the best running in. If you come across something pink or unicorn inspired, even better!
If you follow me on Instagram (@celerinakd), you see that I post most of my training runs on my Insta stories. I hope to motivate and inspire all of you and want to be as real as I can. I get a ton of questions regarding my training so I want to answer the ones that I get asked the most. I am always happy to answer any questions you may have. Please know that I am not a Doctor or running expert, I just simply love to run. So please, before you start any new workout, please visit your Doctor first and make sure you're all good!

TOP 5 RUNNING QUESTIONS I GET ASKED

Q. Do you run everyday?
A. I wish! No, I do not run everyday, I run 4-6 days a week. My running schedule depends on if I am training for a race, too sore, injured or simply feel burned out. YES! Even I get burned out sometimes and on those days, I will weight train or do something else at the gym, anything else. I just like to keep moving!

Q. Do you use a pre-workout or supplements?
A. No. I mostly run on pure adrenaline. I don't like to take/drink/eat anything before a run, ever. I will sip water right before I run and during. I get nauseous if I eat or drink anything before a run. I know, I know, everyone says to drink/eat something before a run but I just can't. Every time I've ever tried, I get sick. No fun! If I am running long distance, I will carry a bottle with half water/half sports drink mixed together. On race day, I will surely sip water and sports drinks at every drink station. After a long run, I do mix a flavorless glutamine anti-catabolic and recovery agent with any sports drink. I feel less sore the next day after I drink it.

Q. What are your favorite running shoes?
A. Asics. Hands down. Every single time I've strayed and tried other brands, I have always regretted it and go crawling back to my beloved Asics.  I prefer the Gel Nimbus 18 because they have just the right amount of cushion and a roomy toe box. I often buy two pair at a time because I'm so afraid I won't be able to find them!

Q. Do you prefer running on a treadmill or outdoors?
A. Both. I like to switch it up so I don't get bored and I like each for different reasons. I like running on the treadmill because I don't have to worry about any irresponsible drivers. I also like interval training on a treadmill because I can really push myself to run faster and at an incline. A couple of years ago I started taking a running class at the gym called Precision Running, I highly recommend it! I would have never pushed myself to run the speed and distance that I have in the class. I like outdoor running because I feel free like a magical unicorn.

Q. How did you get started?
A. Just do it! I've loved running since I was 5 years old! I just always kept it up throughout my life because I enjoy it. If you haven't ran in a while, feel anxious because all of the what-if's or have never run, just start somewhere! I tell everyone who ask me, just start by walking. Walking will turn into jogging and before you know it, you'll be running! Who cares how fast you run? If anyone has anything negative to say about someone running then shame on them! They obviously have never tried it. If I would have listened to everyone who told me I was crazy for running then I wouldn't be a runner! I have never once regretted a run. Ever! Even a bad run is better than no run!

Now lace up your running shoes, turn on your favorite tunes and go run! Thank you for visiting and remember to always be Running on Rosé!

Hello Loves! I want to introduce myself so y'all get to know me a little more. My name is Celerina and I'm a born and raised Texas girl. I have always called Texas home and currently reside in Houston. My husband Justin is my Prince Charming and best friend, I still pinch myself everyday.  I am the proud fur mom of a 6 lb. mini Pomeranian named Sir Bentley and yes darlings, he loves pink too ! My family is huge and I am so thankful to have so much love and support. I learned a long time ago that family is everything and I couldn't agree more.

I love to live life everyday as pretty and pink as I can! My weekdays are spent waking up at the crack of dawn to fit in my marathon training and then hustle and bustle onto work. Monday through Friday from 9-5 I am a Patient Care Coordinator for a facial plastic surgeon. I love what I do and love meeting so many new people. After hours, I turn into a Fashionista! I love to get all glammed up and go to a nice dinner with Mi Amor. On the other hand, I also enjoy cooking at home with French dinner music playing and a nice glass of Rosé, oui oui.

I'm a true pinkaholic and I want it all...in pink. I love to have fun with fashion and if I want to wear something, I wear it! I love trends and wear most all of them but if I love something that is not trending I will still rock it! I am always on the lookout for glam running outfits because I want to make sure I'm sweating pretty. I'm a girly girl in every sense of the word and have been since the day I was born. I envision I will be 100 years old with a pink bow in my hair.

I am so excited to share my life, fashion, running and all things Rosé with you! Let me know what you want to hear and I'll be happy to share. Now that we are friends, I want to know more about you! I'm posting some fun facts about me below and I want to hear yours!

GET TO KNOW ME

1. Celerina is my Mother's name and also my Great Grandmother's name so I am really the third! I don't think girls actually call themselves Jr. or III so I pretend it's my Princess name... Celerina Kay III. My family has always called me Rina and my friends call me Cel. The name Pink was already taken.

2. My favorite food EVER is Mexican Food! I could literally live off of chips and queso but I don't think I would be able to run very far.

3. My favorite animal...Unicorn! I think everyone already knew this.

4. My favorite places to visit are Paris and California. I love Paris so much that I want my home to feel like a chic French Château. I bring home a little inspiration from each place I visit. I love everything about California. I really feel like I belong there!

5.My favorite color is pink or if we're speaking French, Rosé. I also love purple but pink will always be my signature color.

6. I love coffee! I like hot coffee in the morning and iced coffee in the afternoon! Post run, I treat myself to a nice cup of coffee.

7. My hair is real! 100% all mine! I've had long hair my entire life. I will admit it's a lot of work and makes for a very heavy running ponytail. When I say "I can't go, I have to wash my hair", I mean it!

8. My favorite movie ever is The Great Gatsby. I first read the book and watched the movie in middle school and have loved it ever since. I can watch it over and over. At our wedding our first dance was to Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey.

9. This is EXACTLY where I saw myself 10 years ago.

10. I believe in fairy tales. The End.
